Examination in public

  • The Plan must be presented to a Government Inspector at a hearing to be conducted later this year or early next year.
  • Representations are made to the Inspector relating to points made during the Regulation 19 consultation.
  • The Inspector can propose changes (known as ‘main modifications’) to the Plan to make it ‘sound’.
  • In an extreme case, the Inspector could reject the whole Plan and recommend a fresh start.
